Hard to tell at first glance,  but 
 found a high rez version on an air Force website
the two rectangular windows in the C-119 nose show up quite well
while the C-82 has round windows & has none in that location.

Yeah, I think you're right.  I was going by the small extensions of
the horizontal tailplane outside the booms, but it seems early C-119
had these as well.

Taken at the Belgian Army Museum a couple of years ago.

  Nice shots,    I think I have about 7 jumps from the boxcars.
but I would have to dig out my logbook to be sure,  long ago.
not a bad plane for paras, but hated that magcheck at the end of the runway 
before takeoff. those engines would shake that bird good...
